A new drone manufacturing plant may be established in Belarus following a proposal from Russia to produce up to 100,000 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) annually. This initiative was discussed during the recent exhibition of Russian drone systems, where Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko expressed his approval, emphasizing the ease of construction within Belarus compared to Russia. He acknowledged Russia’s advanced capabilities in drone technology and proposed sending Belarusian specialists to Russia for training in cutting-edge aerospace developments. Currently, the project is in its preliminary discussion phase, but both nations are expected to expedite the approval process. The potential establishment of this facility is significant as it reflects a deepening defense cooperation between Belarus and Russia and could enhance Belarus’s capabilities in UAV production and technology.
