Rostec’s arms export subsidiary, Rosoboronexport, has announced the potential for establishing production of the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter jet abroad, indicating readiness to engage in modernization efforts for India’s Su-30MKI fleet. Should India proceed positively, production of the Su-57E could commence at existing Su-30MKI manufacturing facilities, facilitating a rapid rollout. Interest in the Su-57E has been notably high among Indian specialists, particularly following its demonstration at Aero India 2025 in Bangalore, where it also completed a training flight. This development underscores a strategic avenue for enhancing Indo-Russian defense cooperation and positioning the Su-57E as a competitive option in the global fighter market, thereby reinforcing Russia’s foothold in advanced aerospace technology exports.
