India may commence production of the fifth-generation Su-57E fighter aircraft swiftly, contingent on a favorable decision from New Delhi. This announcement was made on March 7 by Rosoboronexport, noting that the manufacturing will be based at facilities currently producing the Su-30MKI, with over 220 units delivered under contract by HAL. The Russian side is prepared to implement a modernization program for the Indian Air Force’s Su-30MKI fleet, involving the integration of new precision munitions and enhancements to onboard systems. Furthermore, a recent agreement signed on February 18 by Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Alexander Fomin and Indian Ambassador Vinay Kumar enhances cooperation between the defense ministries of both countries for joint initiatives. This development is pivotal for bolstering India’s aerial capabilities and strengthening military ties with Russia, highlighting a strategic move towards advancing indigenous defense production and modernization.
