The Russian Ministry of Defense has released footage showcasing the operational effectiveness of the Merlin-VR reconnaissance drones deployed by the Western military group in the special military operation zone. The Merlin-VR is capable of conducting surveillance on concealed military equipment, command points, and fortified enemy positions, while also providing artillery correction for strikes against Ukrainian Armed Forces targets. With advanced capabilities, including a 90x optical zoom camera, the Merlin-VR can identify hard-to-detect enemy positions over a 10-hour flight duration at altitudes of up to 5 kilometers, and it operates effectively in diverse weather conditions, including snowy environments. Recent missions resulted in the identification of over 150 targets, leading to successful artillery strikes that destroyed key enemy assets, including troop concentrations and vehicles.
