The naval exercise “Maritime Security Belt – 2025” commenced on March 9 in the Iranian port of Chabahar, featuring participation from Russian, Iranian, and Chinese naval forces. The Russian contingent includes the corvettes “Rezky” and “Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov,” along with the Pacific Fleet’s medium sea tanker “Pechenga.” Over several days, participating crews will conduct operations focused on the liberation of seized vessels, search and rescue missions at sea, and artillery exercises targeting maritime and aerial objectives. The exercise involves approximately 15 vessels, support ships, and combat boats, as well as naval aviation helicopters. This operation aims to enhance maritime security, counter piracy and terrorism, and protect maritime communications, marking the seventh iteration of the joint exercise first held in 2018 in the Arabian Sea. The strategic collaboration underscores the commitment of Russia, Iran, and China to bolster regional maritime security through cooperative defense measures.
