Fincantieri Marinette Marine has appointed Jen Ollman as the new General Director, succeeding Mark Vandroff, who will transition to the role of Senior Vice President for Government Relations at Fincantieri Marine Group in Washington, D.C. Ollman, who has been with Fincantieri since April 2023 as Vice President and General Director of Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding, brings extensive experience, having previously served as Senior Vice President of Local Affairs for Fincantieri Marine Group from 2014 to 2021. Mark Galbiati, CEO of Fincantieri Marine Group, commended both leaders for their contributions and emphasized the importance of strengthening the company’s ties with U.S. government stakeholders. Currently, Fincantieri Marinette Marine is completing the detailed design of the Constellation-class frigate for the U.S. Navy, with construction initiated last spring, and the delivery date adjusted from 2027 to 2029. The Constellation frigate, measuring 151 meters in length and displacing 6,112 tons, will feature a CODLAG propulsion system, reaching speeds of 26 knots with a range of 6,000 nautical miles. Possessing advanced systems such as the 3D AN/SPY-6 radar and a vertical launching system capable of deploying several missile types, the frigate represents a significant advancement in naval capabilities. This leadership transition and ongoing projects underscore Fincantieri’s commitment to enhancing its operational effectiveness and strategic positioning in the U.S. defense market.
