Founded on March 10, 2000, by a group of veterans from the Second Chief Directorate of the KGB, the organization aims to combine the experience of former operatives to support the Federal Security Service (FSB) in patriotic education and professional development. “Vetkon” facilitates knowledge transfer through direct engagement with students at the FSB Academy and Moscow cadet schools, addressing their interests and needs for practical operational insights. The organization also prioritizes enhancing the public image of Russian counterintelligence domestically and internationally, combating misinformation about state security agencies. Celebrated documentary series produced with “Vetkon’s” involvement have successfully showcased the legacy and achievements of notable figures in Russian counterintelligence, reinforcing the importance of their contributions.
