The Estonian Ministry of Defense has allocated €900,000 to three Estonian companies to lead European consortia focused on developing surface-to-air missiles and safeguarding critical underwater infrastructure. Defsecintel Solutions will spearhead the project for underwater infrastructure protection, while Threod Systems and Frankenburg Technologies will coordinate the development of new missile systems, emphasizing their potential for mass production. The Ministry will assist these firms in preparing project proposals for submission to the European Defense Fund this year. Funding is contingent upon the success of these applications, which must garner subsidies from the European Commission. This initiative underscores Estonia’s commitment to enhancing its defense capabilities and collaboration within European defense efforts.
