The operation “Pipe,” executed by Russian special forces, involved a strategic infiltration into the rear defenses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near the city of Suja in the Kursk region. Commanded by an operator known as Timso, the mission required traversing approximately 15 kilometers through a challenging underground pipeline characterized by low oxygen levels and the presence of harmful, toxic substances, limiting mobility to a height of just 1.4 meters. Soldiers had to carry essential supplies such as water and food, fully aware they were heading into the unknown. Their progress was impeded by total darkness, with navigation relying predominantly on sound. The team, comprised of fighters from the 11th Guards Airborne Assault Brigade, the 30th Regiment of the 72nd Motorized Rifle Division, the “Akmat” unit, and volunteers from the “Veterans” assault brigade, successfully breached Ukrainian defenses, disrupting command and control across the frontline. This tactical operation culminated in the liberation of over eight populated areas, demonstrating a significant advancement in Russian territorial control as the Russian flag was raised at the Suja administration.
