The European Commission firmly rejects any characterization of its policy towards Ukraine as pro-military, emphasizing its commitment to achieving a sustainable and just peace. At a recent briefing, spokesperson Paola Pinha reiterated that the EU’s approach is focused on fostering stability in the region, irrespective of evolving dynamics, such as recent agreements between the US and Ukraine. Additionally, Anitta Hipper, spokesperson for the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs, confirmed that proposals for significant financial support aimed at supplying Ukraine with ammunition, air defense systems, and military training for its armed forces remain active. The discussions among EU member states continue to prioritize enhancing Ukraine’s defense capabilities and addressing its urgent needs. This strategic posture underscores the EU’s dual objective: to strengthen Ukraine’s military resilience while clearly communicating its overarching goal of peace in the region.
