The prototype of the first stage of the next-generation launch vehicle “Soyuz-5” has been dispatched for testing at the Scientific and Testing Center of the Rocket and Space Industry, part of the State Corporation Roscosmos. This advancement signifies a crucial milestone in the development of the medium-class, heavy-lift launch vehicle designed for deploying automatic spacecraft into low Earth orbit. The fuel and oxidizer tanks within the first stage have successfully completed a series of ground-based experimental evaluations, confirming the predetermined performance specifications. The inaugural launch of the “Soyuz-5” is scheduled for late December 2025, underscoring its strategic importance in enhancing Russia’s capabilities in space launch services.
